À propos de l'événement
For the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, the doors of the Château de Sacy will open for an afternoon of art, music, writing and exploration.
Our three artists in residence – Sidney Fereday, an English musician; Tess Davidson, an Irish writer; and Alana Bassett, a Californian photographer and filmmaker – have spent two weeks living and working at the château, developing new work inspired by the house, its history, gardens, sounds and atmosphere.
Throughout the afternoon, each artist will occupy a different space, indoors or out. Wander between them at your own pace to encounter photography and film, live music, readings and sound work, meet the artists and hear about the ideas behind their work. There will also be a participatory audio workshop, and at one point during the afternoon the three artists will come together to present a collaborative piece created during their residency.
The château itself will be part of the experience. Visitors are free to explore its reception rooms, courtyard and one-hectare grounds, including the English-style gardens, orchard, old kitchen garden, historic outbuildings and 1850 dovecote.
Come for a performance, stay for the afternoon, wander through the gardens, have a drink and discover a normally private 18th-century château brought to life through contemporary art.
Free entry · No booking required · Complimentary drinks and refreshments
