Musicians, writers, artists, sculptors, photographers, film-makers and dancers! Give your project the time and space it deserves on a week-long (or more) untutored retreat in Sacy-le-Petit this May, with yoga classes to rejuvenate you, while we take care of the everyday
Time and Place
20 May 2024, 15:30 – 26 May 2024, 11:00
Chateau de Sacy, 1 Rue Verte, 60190 Sacy-le-Petit, France
What's Happening
Surrounded by the enchanting plains, forests and villages of Picardie, the chateau and its grounds have been inspiring artists for decades. This is your chance to free your imagination, work on your current work-in-progress or to begin something new in a supportive and stimulating environment, away from the clatter and noise of daily life.Â
An untutored retreat is all about you. Apart from yoga classes and shared meal times, your days are yours to structure as you see fit. We will shop for what's needed, provide meals - from croissants delivered fresh to the gate to dinner made with ingredients from the local farm shop - and help however we can. Participants will be asked to cook one evening meal during the week, together with another and with support from house staff.
We hope to welcome a range of creatives, working in different disciplines and at different stages of experience., who will make progress and friends and have a great time along the way. There are various spaces to work in: an ancient barn, a recently converted studio with sound-proofed doors, the salon with its piano, your room (all of which have desks), or outside in the delighful chateau grounds.Â
We offer a range of accommodation to suit different budgets - from your own tent set up in the orchard that can be shared with a friend, to an en suite with windows giving on to both sides of the garden. All the accommodation is private. You can find out more about each room here.
You can choose to stay for a week or up to two weeks to really develop your project.Â
If you'd like to go exploring, there are bicycles available, and if you don't have a car, we can always be talked into an outing to a local lake, market, chateau or bar.
 FoodÂ
All your house meals are provided, Ottolenghi-inspired, locally and sustainably sourced wherever possible and we of course make use of the bounteous garden with its herbs, vegetables, walnuts and berries. Help yourself to a laid-out breakfast, our team will prepare lunch, and some dinner is prepared in groups using the delicious recipes and ingredients provided. We are happy to cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements.
