What's Happening

Poetry with Luke Wright

Award-winning poet and Radio 4 regular Luke Wright will lead a small group of writers through a series of engaging workshops and one-on-one tutorials. With an array of peaceful spaces to work and Luke’s careful guidance you’ll learn how to write beautiful, big-hearted poems and gain the confidence and insight on how to share them with audiences on the page or stage.

All writers welcome and all bedrooms have a desk.  (Check out BookRetreats.com for more retreats)

Yoga

Vinyasa Flow sessions indoors or out will leave you feeling rejuvenated and strong, with sequences designed to open up the body, unblock trapped energy and release tension.

Food and Drink

Meals will be largely vegetarian, Ottolenghi-inspired, locally sourced where possible and will include local cheeses and cuisine. Coffee, tea, fruit, and pastries will be available throughout the day. Wine will be served with dinner, some of which will be prepared and served by participants, with ingredients and recipes supplied and help at hand.

Free time

In your free time, you can walk to the Chapelle Saint Catherine, a spot visited by Joan of Arc in the nearby woods, go swimming in a lake, ride a bike to the farmshop, learn to walk the tightrope, or just soak up the atmosphere at the chateau.

Outing

On Thursday, you can either visit Paris (a short train ride away) or we will visit the fascinating Armistice Museum, site of the train carriage where the Armistice of both World war I and II were signed, and featured in All Quiet on The Western Front. After lunch in the riverside town of Compiegne, we will spend the afternoon at its magnificent chateau, built by Louis XV and remodelled by Napoleon. We will cover entrance to both.

A special guest speaker may join us for dinner.

A year's membership of our arts association is also included.
