Beatrice, aka Veronica Venus, is a Paris and London-based costumier and burlesque performer. As a teenager, she modelled for Balenciaga, Givenchy, ID and The Face, and assisted designers with their collections, in order to learn design and how to sew, while also taking dance classes at Pineapple Studios. She was enamoured of Hollywood goddesses such as Rita Hayworth and Sofia Loren, and drew her passions together, making her costumes and choreographing her acts, to perform her burlesque acts in at London's nightspots, the legendary Madame JoJo’s among them. She now lives in Paris with her husband, and creates historical costumes, specialising in her pet period, the decorative France of the 18th century. During lockdown, Beatrice would sew, embroider and research original historical techniques and details for hours. She now creates elegant, graceful gowns for herself and clients attending Les Fêtes Galantes at Château de Versailles and Venice Carnival.
